The Dattels Family Foundation is a private not for profit corporation funding programmes in Canada and overseas.

The funding programmes of the Foundation are built around four pillars:

  • Conservation
  • Education
  • International Aid
  • Health

Presently the Foundation focuses on collaborating with organisations which align with the philosophies of the Foundation. While these four areas of interest are the principal focus of the Foundation, from time to time the Foundation may provide funding for health care and other worthwhile charitable endeavours

About Dattels Family Foundation

Jennifer Dattels and her husband, the mining entrepreneur Stephen Dattels, together with their children have committed to support charitable work in Canada and overseas.

Stephen Dattels became a non-resident of Canada in November 1999 and continued his own charitable donations outside of Canada particularly with the International Crisis Group and the Clinton Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative referenced on the website.

The Dattels Family Foundation, which was established in 2009, is intended to provide a focus for the family’s continued philanthropic programme and to provide a lasting source of funding for projects which align with the core values of the Dattels family. The three directors of the foundation are Jennifer Dattels and her two sons Graham Dattels and David Dattels.

The strategic direction and funding policies of the Foundation remain with the Board of Directors who assess funding opportunities as well as ensuring that the Foundation maintains high standards of Corporate Governance.
